Magda Martha Van Opstal Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Magda Martha Van Opstal of Tillsonburg, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 2, 2025 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Van Opstal; and her siblings, Martina Vanneste of Belgium, Marcella Lacroix of Belgium, Mariette Vanhoucke of Glanworth and Mark Vanneste.

She is survived by: her son-in-law Brian Van Opstal of Kitchener; her granddaughter-in-law Hannah Van Opstal (Nico Sinnige); her daughter-in-law Michelle Van Opstal (Mark Weiss) of Haliburton; her grandchildren-in-law, Dr. Zachary Weiss, Michael Weiss, Megan Weiss and Sydney Weiss; her close friend Marjo Nault-Kubera; and her sister Monique Vancoille of Tavistock.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial And (262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, ON N4G3R7). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Springford Cemetery (225227 Otterville Rd, Norwich, ON N0J1R0).
