He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Groeneveld and Teunisje Groeneveld; his sister Willy Dol; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Dol, John Harris, Judith Depaepe and Cecilia Depoorter.
He is survived by: his wife Simone (Depaepe); his children, Daniel Groeneveld (Valerie Smith), Peggy Adlington (Jon), Paul Groeneveld (Carol) and Wendy Belaen (Gary); his grandchildren, Jon Adlington Jr. (Kaitlyn Masse), Alisha Doan (Fraser), Stephen Adlington (Sarah Taylor), Kyle Belaen (Megan), Chelsea Durham (Philip), Joshua Adlington (Taryn), Brynn, Kira, Nora, Talan, Max, Quinn and Nate; his brother Gerrit Groeneveld (Nellie); and his siblings-in-law, Lawrence Depoorter, George Depaepe (Darlene) and Dorothy Harris.
