He was predeceased by: his son Roger Hornby; his grandson Jack; his parents, Elsie Lenore Kilshaw and William Hornby; and his brothers, Charlie (Bertha), Jim (Bernice), George (Irma), Gerry (Mae) and Billy.
He is survived by: his children, Marilyn Pankhurst (Fred), Kathy Hornby, Bonnie Cronkwright and Dan Hornby (Eden); his grandchildren, Melissa Kristiansen (Jason), Cara Hornby McLellan, Christopher Lam (Yvonne), Matthew Pankhurst (Jocelynn), Adam Pankhurst, Harrison, Dylan, Gillian, Tyson and Ethan Hornby; his great grandchildren, Jared, Kyle Kristiansen, Keegan and Finley McLellan; his wife Mary VanMaele; his stepchildren, Richard VanMaele (Kim), Joanne Freund (Joel) and Michele Mostacci (Luc); his stepgrandchildren, Davis, Jena and Kendra; his stepchildren, Anthony and Megan; and his sisters, Elsie Spence Erie Harris (Doug), Norma and Connie Hornby.
