He was predeceased by: his son Barry Wass; his parents, Fred Wass and Doris Wass; and his brothers, Mike Wass and Jeff Wass.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Wass; his sons, Brian Wass (Gaby) and Gene Hayward; his grandchildren, Mitchell Wass, Amanda Wass and Dillan Wass; his great grandchild Naomi Gurney; and his siblings, Margaret Holland (Richard), Barb Freeman (Charles), Wendy Reynolds (Bryce), John Wass and Jamie Wass (Sandy). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
