He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Clunas and Loretta Clunas (Durdle); and his brothers, Mike and Steven. He is survived by: his sons, Shane Clunas and Dustin Churcher; his grandchildren, Tiernan and Amielia Clunas; and his siblings, John Clunas and Karen Leach. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in memory of Sam to Children's Health Foundation (formerly Sick Kid's Hospital, London) or Ronald McDonald House would be appreciated by his family.
