He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Fortin and Eva Fortin; his sister Linda; and his sisters-in-law, Carol and Joanne.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Fortin; his children, Daniel Chayer, Shawn Fortin (Sandy) and Chris Fortin (Casey); his siblings, Leon Fortin, Irene Ward (late Steve) and Gerry Fortin (Brenda); his mother-in-law Gisele (late Germain); his siblings-in-law, Ray (Ruth), Gilles (Bernie) and Natalie; and his friend Fern Pilote. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
