He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia; his granddaughter Sydney Legasy; his parents, Joseph Legasy and May Legasy; and his siblings, Vincent, Marie Mae, Pauline, Gladys and Rose.

He is survived by: his children, Linda (Donald Labrie), Karen (Pamela Laidler), Lawrence and Joel (Tracy Butterworth); his grandchildren, Jeremy Labrie (Darren Potter), Rebecca Boucher (Danny), Emily Legasy and Lisa Laidler; his great grandchildren, Seth, Demi, Scarlett Boucher and Aurora Perry; his sister-in-law June Pilon; and his sibling's children, Lucille Coleman, Percy Pineault and Paul Jenne.
