He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Bastien and Delia Bastien (Chenier); his wife Jeannine Bastien (Langlois); his siblings, Rheal Bastien (Therese), Norman Bastien (Denise) and Sue Ironside; and his siblings-in-law, Suzanne Thomas and Robert Langlois (Wendy).
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Bastien and Diane Cormier (Bastien); his son-in-law Richard Cormier; his children, Linda Bastien, Mike Bastien, JP Hurtubise (Natalie), Reggy Hurtubise (Mary), Anne Riendeau (Denis), Albert Hurtubise (Lisa), Suzanne Guindon (Wayne) and Richard Hurtubise (Georgina); his siblings, Phillipe Bastien (late Estelle), Laurent Bastien (late Therese), Jacqueline Pronovost (Marcel) and Denise Fournier (Kim); and his siblings-in-law, Pierrette Hurtubise (late Marcel), Nicole Hannah (Ron), Paulette Piquette (late Richard), Ron Langlois (Fran) and Yvan Langlois (late Brenda). He is also survived by his 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
