He was predeceased by: his son Alexandre Sasha; his sisters, Agnes Carter (late Bob) of Spokane, Washington, Teclutsa "Margie" Sause (late Curtis) of Coos Bay and Oregon; his parents, Alexander and Magdelena Costiniuk; and his in-laws, Georges and Marie-Reine Montpetit of Cochrane.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores; his daughter Dr Cecilia Costiniuk of Montreal; and his sister Mary Gavan (late Robert) of Ottawa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
