He was predeceased by : his children, John Hendry and Sandra Hendry; his parents, Harold Hendry and Laura Hendry; his siblings, George Hendry and Laura Jean Hendry; and his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Shewfelt (Burton) and Sherman Ferris.

He is survived by : his spouse Velma Hendry; his children, Ann Poppe (Rick) of London, Steven Hendry (Anne) of Tiverton and Lloyd Hendry (Donna) of Inverhuron; his grandchildren, Kurt Poppe (Rebecca), Claire Poppe, Deanne Poppe (Dan Post), David Hendry (Yan), Joel Hendry (Melissa), Kristen Hendry, Amber Hendry (Jason Stevenson), Michele Hendry and Rebecca Ribey (Mark); his sister Margaret McKague (Peter); and his sisters-in-law, Pat Hendry and Grace MacPherson (Bruce). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
