Scott Wilson Obituary
After a courageously fought battle with cancer, it is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a wonderful Man.
Scott Douglas Wilson peacefully passed away with his wife by his side at the Tiverton hospice (Huron Shores). On Wednesday Oct 22 at the age of 58.
Scott is the son of Douglas Gordon Wilson (deceased) and Ruth Estell Rahn Wilson. He was born in 1967 in Montreal. In August of 1991, he married his beloved Manon (Larose) in Montreal. Together they raised four amazing children Jeremiah (Linda), Courtney, Allison, and Kimberley. He became a proud Grandfather to Silas in January 2025
Scott graduated from Carlton University in 1990 as an Electrical and Electronic Engineer. After becoming a Professional Engineer, he worked for 35 years at what is now known as Bruce Power. He strongly believed in giving his time generously to others, volunteering years with air cadets (Port Elgin) as a civilian instructor and passionately teaching on leadership and personal values.
He enjoyed welcoming many exchange students into our family, and grew close with many, including Mylenia who is like a daughter to him.
Scott was a man who passionately loved to debate on any subject, solve puzzles, learn new things (a handy man he was not), a downhill ski instructor for many years. He had a witty sense of humour and a strong love of God. His family was the most important part of his life - he will be missed by many- including his two older sisters Lori (Mark) and Tracy (Dave). As well as John Kadai who he considered a brother.
His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service.
A service will take place on Sunday November 9 at 1 pm at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre located at 6 McKay Street, Tiverton, followed by a reception.
A private family burial has already taken place on Monday October 27th.
