He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Isobel. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Messner (Hans) and John (Pamela Wagner); his grandchildren, Anne Messner (Sean Le Drew), Kristy Messner, Andrew Messner, Erica Wasserman (Mark), Karl Shuve (Melissa Phillips) and Brian Shuve-Wilson (David); and his brother Edward Shuve.
