He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Paterson and Kathleen Paterson; and his brother James Paterson. He is survived by: his wife Carole Paterson; his sons, Michael (Sharon) and Daniel (Mizuki); and his grandchildren, Cole Tyler, Alyssa, Kaito and Rika.
