He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Ellis and Edmund Ellis; his siblings, Elric (Florence), Aurele (Martina), Eleanor (Norman) and Doug (Anne); his wife Clare Marie Ellis; his daughter Dawna (Al); and his grandchildren, Jodie, Christopher and John.
He is survived by: his sons, David (Rezna), Brian (Barbara), Greg (Leslie) and Brent (Marsha); his grandchildren, Mandy, David (Dayna), Kathryn (Guy), Jennifer (Lucas), Emily, Joe, Bridget and Peter; and his great grandchildren, Brianna, Madison, Vallie-Rose, Declan, Neve, Yve, Eoghan, Hildegard, Tadg, Dymphna and Mirren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newediuk Funeral Home, Kipling Chapel (2058 Kipling Ave, Toronto, ON M9W4J9). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Nativity of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church (480 Rathburn Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9C3S8). A burial was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at the Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON L6H7A8).
