He was predeceased by: his mother Frances Arbour; his brother Paul; the mother of his children Irene; and his father Nicola Defina. He is survived by: his wife Beverley; his siblings, Lynda, Carolyn (Michael Dokuchic), Michael and Ken (Noriko Kagami); his children, Marc, Adrienne, Deirdre (Lanny Da Silva) and Rachel; and his grandson Crosby. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Art's memory to the Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT), the Daily Bread Food Bank to support local food security in Toronto, or the St. Felix Centre.
