In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Athanasia leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Athanasia may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her daughters, Georgina (Konstantinos "Danny" Tamtakiridis), Niki (Steve Petropoulos) and Vivian (Konstantinos "Gus" Petsis); and her parents, Nikolaos Arvanitou and Stavroula Arvanitou.
She is survived by: her husband Theodoros; and her siblings, Dimitra and Panagiota. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, in-laws, extended family, and many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Centre (50 Overlea Blvd, Toronto, ON M4H1B6). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 7th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (30 Thorncliffe Park Dr, East York, ON M4H1H8). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pine Hills Cemetery (625 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough, ON M1K1R1).
