She is survived by: her daughter Jennifer Salazar-Costas; her son-in-law Ricardo Costas; her son Richard Allen Jimenea; her daughter-in-law Veronica Abria Jimenea; and her grandchildren, Ben, Tiffany, Richard Jr. and Aileen.
A reception was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM.
Aside from her many contributions to education, Carmelita sang her heart out as a member of the Retired Teachers Toronto Choristers and St. Basil's Parish choir.
