Christina passed away peacefully on the evening of February 27, with her daughter by her side and finally found peace after a brief battle with cancer and a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Her pain is gone and Heaven gained a new angel.
'If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching, Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.'
Christina definitely didn't live in vain as her generous and caring Spirit and beautiful heart touched many people's lives as she had a special way about her that made people gravitate towards her. She volunteered throughout her life and devoted herself to causes that impacted her own life and helped others along the way ; the best way to honour her memory is to continue the ways Christina displayed kindness.
Christina had a very quick wit and was always the best dressed person in the room; she loved cooking and baking as food was another way she spread love. She was an avid reader, loved dancing, travelling, reading and watching old movies - all activities that she looked forward to enjoying more as she got older, but Alzheimer's sadly robbed her of enjoying. Christina was an amazing mother who devoted her life to her children that she loved deeply; however, of all things she loved in life, none surpassed the love she had for her Grandchildren as for them, there was nothing she wouldn't gladly buy, bake or do.
Christina was pre-deceased her parents , Stanislaw Kuznicki & Maria Kuznicka (Golanowska) .Christina leaves behind her children, Laura and Mitchell (Monica); her grandchildren whom she adored, Jacob, Matthew and Mila; her sisters Dana Dowshenko (Walter) and Janina Mancini (Tony) ; her Nephews Edward, whom she nicknamed 'Butch', Victor (Annie) and Marco and her niece, Tasha (Rob) ; many Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews ; her ex-son-in-law, Marc (Karen) and many friends.
In memory of Christina's life, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Society of Toronto, as they helped and supported both Christina and her family or Copernicus Lodge Foundation (Toronto) as they provided such amazing care to Christina over the past 7 years, especially the nursing and care staff of 2N, 2S and 1N.
In this time of COVID-19 there will be no funeral service and as one of Christina's last requests, she has been cremated. Please, celebrate Christina's life in your own way and remember her responsibly.
A small Celebration of Life will be held at a later, yet undetermined, date.
