He was predeceased by: his parents, James Patrick Steer and Margaret Hannah Steer; and his brother-in-law John Vincent Webber. He is survived by: his wife Susan Maureen Steer; his sons, Geoffrey Michael Steer and Ian Patrick Steer (Lorna Catherine Ekblad); his brother-in-law Laurence Henry Webber (Susan Webber); and his sibling's children, England and Tam Martin Fowles.
