We announce the death of David Iwao Azuma (Toronto, Ontario), who passed away on November 1, 2026, at the age of 100. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Kay; and his siblings, Mary, Arthur and Fred. He is survived by: his children, David, Kay and Dennis Azuma Ken (Dale); his grandchildren, David (Joy), Michael (Amanda), Lisa (Marcus), Sean (Kim), Steven, Daniel (Vi), Matthew (Kari), Christopher (Taylor), Grant, Andrew (Jenna), Krysten (Mike), Nicole (Chad) and Tim; and his great grandchildren, Dominic, Jackson, Cameron and Madison.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Highland Funeral Home - Scarborough Chapel (3280 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1T3K3). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Toronto Buddhist Church (1011 Sheppard Ave W, North York, ON M3H2T7).
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of sending flowers, you may consider making a donation in memory of David, to the Momiji Health Care Society or the Toronto Buddhist Church.
