He is survived by: his wife Sandra (Sandie); his children, Vienna and Dante; his parents, Giuseppe Emer and Luciana Emer; his siblings, Sergio Emer, Joanne Emer and Paul Emer (Sami); his mother-in-law Rena Macoretta; his siblings-in-law, David and Tracey Macoretta; and his siblings' children, Cole and Abbi Macoretta. He is also survived by his family, near and far, and adoring friends.

“David had a huge impact on my life. He showed me what it meant to be a real man. I've thought of him and his teachings many times over the years. I think of him anytime I pick up a tool and get my hands dirty. I still use the methods he taught me in carpentry class to this day. He helped me get through school even though I was far from a good student. I will never forget him and the kindness he offered me.
