It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Demetre Spanos (Toronto, Ontario), who passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Demetre leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughters, Roula and Helen; and his grandsons, George, James and Chris.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church (1 Brookhaven Dr, North York, ON M6M4N6). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Philips Anglican Church Cemetery (25 St. Phillips Rd, Toronto, ON M9P2N7). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Astoria Shish Kebob House - Mississauga (1970 Dundas St E, Mississauga, ON L4X2W7).
