He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Evelyn Meikle and Ethel Emily Meikle (Shortt); his wife Betty Louise (Snider); and his brothers, Harold and Gordon.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kathleen and Nancy; and his grandchildren, Robert Schnurr, Brittany Ykema (Schnurr) and Carina Mousseau.
