He was predeceased by: his parents, Reg Hicks and Olive Hicks; and his in-laws, Claire, Clarence Freek and Ewart Godden.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his family Doug; his children, Kathy (Ted Mills), Andrew (Ellen Christie), Laura (Jeff Simpkins) and Brenda (Tim Mullen); his grandchildren, Tory (Adam), Emily (Ethan), Erin, Annie (Julian), Jamie (Jordyn), John Douglas (Samantha), Trevor, Dane and Will; and his great grandchildren, Cooper, Emmett, Annie and Joseph. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
