“As a follow up for our great and sorely missed fellow Waterford Cara I would also mention that his family were over from Dungarvan and didn’t they remember my Mathair with great affection in Hills Pharmacy on the Square, but didn’t Maire Brett remember my Athair as well and he’s gone almost 70 years, since 1956 actually. What a great family these folks are and not to mention but Betty Brett is an old friend of my Brathair Breandan and they’re close neighbours in Dublin lately. Dr David. H.”

“If only the Waterford Hurling team could just have won one lousy All Ireland Final in recent years it would have made such a huge difference to our beloved fellow Dungarvan soul mate/buddy. In fact the last time I was with him was at the All Ireland in Dublin when Waterford played Galway. It was in our grasp only to be thwarted in the last few minutes one more time. Didn’t I know where to find him that day. His family in Dungarvan came out for my own Mathairs funeral that cold December day.”

“What a delightful character he was. He was from only a mile or two from my own Tig in Dungarvan, ins An Deise. One of the first guys to take me under his wing at the Man of Arran agus show me the ropes after I arrived in Toronto fado fado. Got to know him more or less immediately on a great professional basis, when all those patients came back smiling from his Physio Clinic. Talk about a quick cure, there it was. Should have been Man of the Decade in my view. Dr Dave Hill agus Family”
