John McPherson wrote a sympathy message

“My sister and I grew up on Prestwick Crescent, opposite the Armstrong family. We spent many happy years playing together in the street - whether it be street hockey, playing jumpsies, building snow forts, or watching fireworks together on Victoria Day. Liz was a big part of those happy years. We remember her as kind, smart, good-natured and funny. She and my sister Mary were very close. Our sincerest condolences to the whole family at this difficult time. John and Mary McPherson”
