He was predeceased by: his wife Florence; his parents, Peter Bengert and Christine Bengert (Diewold); and his sibling Del. He is survived by: his sister Lillian Schreiner of Kamloops; his children, Bonita Porter, Darrell (Ann), Doug (Rossanna), Dean (Tina) and Drew (Lisa); his grandchildren, Jennifer DeCaria (Tony), Jeremy Porter, Amanda Hammond (Mark) and James; his stepgrandchildren, Stefanie, Vincent, Chris (Nicole), Luke and Jake Bengert; and his great grandchildren, Rowan, Hunter, Ben, Molly, Vanessa, Austin and Rylee.
