He is survived by: his wife Eileen; his mother-in-law Kathleen Butts; his brothers, Doug (Ann), John and David (Renee); his brothers-in-law, Peter (Ellen) and Chris (Martha); and his children, Jeff (Kelly), Lauryn, Marisa, Leanne (Brandon), Megan, Emma, Greg (Karen), Jacob, Kaila, Mack (Rose), Jade, Rijker, Stephanie (Ian), Pam (Kris), Darryl (Kristi), Joshua, Tyler (Alex), Adam (Jessie) and Nicholas (Katrina).

An amazing Sunnybrook Heart Pal, a former featured runner, a marathon man, a dedicated Terry Fox runner, a board member for Future Aces Foundation, Horizons for Youth, & West Hill United.

“Eileen, I am sooo sorry to learn of George's passing. What a loss to you and all of his friends! George and I became friends in grade 7 at Dalewood Public School and our friendship continued right through our university years. We lost touch for many years but I was so glad to reconnect with him a few years aga. I will always have fond memories of George and his quick wit, his intellect, his thoughtfulness and his optimism despite his health challenges. He has left a void in all our lives.”
