He is survived by : his former life partner Eleanor "Elsie" Thomas; his wife Eleanor Holmes; his children, Gerald Dale Holmes (Lynne), Alice Mae Holmes, Bryan Holmes, Tracey Forbes and Darnell Holmes; and his siblings, Darrell Holmes (Kaye), YaVonne Gydesen and Todd Holmes. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
