He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosaria and Nicola; his brothers, Franco, Rodolfo and Vito; his parents-in-law, Ninetta and Fillipo; and his brother-in-law Guy.

He is survived by: his wife Anne; his daughter Grace (Ian); his grandchild Kyle; and his in-laws, Giancarlo, Anna, Elio, Rina, Renato, Rosa, Angela, Isa, Lou and Tatiana. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family have requested donations in Memory of Giovanni Vaccarelli be made to the Alzheimer Society or to Diabetes Canada.
