Helen Bates Obituary

We bid farewell to Helen Bates (Toronto, Ontario), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 2, 2026 at the age of 97. Helen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Lesaichuk and Mary Lesaichuk; her husband James; and her son Richard (Jill). She is survived by: her daughters, Marlene (Ken Leger) and Deborah (Joseph Conforti); her grandchildren, Amanda (Scott Harper), Jennifer (Dany), Danielle (Andrew Appleby), David (Nancy Leger), Emma (Amani Peters) and Abigail (Dwayne Hawkins); and her great grandchildren, Juliette, Emilia, Lennox, Keegan, Taylor, Finley, Ella, David Jr., Mason and Scarlett. She is also survived by her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Alderwood United Church (44 Delma Dr, Etobicoke, ON M8W4N6). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, February 9th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Park Lawn Cemetery (2845 Bloor St W, Etobicoke, ON M8X1A6).
