She was predeceased by: her father Michael Surtel; her husband Henry "Chick" Halas; and her sisters, Stella Leonard and Cecilia Koturbash. She is survived by: her mother Anna Surtel; her children, Debra (late Ted Ophelders), Paula (Jaan Vaikla) and Paul (Donna Bovair); and her sister Stephanie Krzyzanowski. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews.
