He was predeceased by: his wife Godelieve; his siblings, Jenny, Ria, Cor, Joe and Jean-Louis; and his parents, Emmy Remortel and Joseph Van Remortel (Henry).
He is survived by: his sons, Paul and Mark; his daughter-in-law Maureen; his grandchildren-in-law, Taylor, Cole and Sophie; his daughter-in-law Natasha; and his grandchildren-in-law, Hailey and Charlize. He is also survived by his extended family and many friends.
