He is survived by: his wife Mary; his sons, Danylo (Cyndi), Josyf (Natalie) and Mattej (Patrycja); his grandchildren, Nathan, Mark, Vera, Juliana and Luca; his sister Olha; his siblings-in-law, Garrett Marinacci and Oksana (Bohdan Ciz); his nephew Zenon (Marta); and his nieces, Olenka and Ukraine.

Ihor was a cherished husband, wonderful father and grandfather, much loved and respected by all who knew him. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, funeral arrangements are by invitation only.

“I am so sad to hear of your loss. Mr. Pelech was my grade 8 teacher at St. Andrews Junior High school almost 40 years ago. I have thought about him over the years as he bestowed a love of English grammar in me. I got 100% in one exam and felt so proud and honoured as he did not give marks out easily.
