With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jessie MEAD (Maben) Smith of Toronto, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 27, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Maben and Margaret Maben; her sister Myra; her husband Alastair Smith; and her son Derek.
She is survived by: her daughter Deirdre (Evan Thompson); her daughter-in-law Rebecca Smith; her grandchildren, Alastair Smith, Alexandru, Nicholas and Kai Rainwater; her stepgranddaughter Elizabeth Thompson (Dan Haid); her great grandchild Tyler Rainwater; her stepgreat-grandson Teddy Haid; and her nephew Springbett.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Clement's Church (70 St Clements Ave, Toronto, ON M4R1H2). A reception will be held on Thursday, April 23rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Briar Hill Room (99 Marlee Ave, Toronto, ON M6E3B3).
