He was predeceased by : his father H. Bruce Owens; and his brother Paul. He is survived by : his mother Betty Ann Owens (Argue); his wife Sue Foster; his brother Brian Owens (Reese); his nieces and nephews, Nicholas Owens, Ashley, Jennifer (Mark Foster) and Russ (Ciara Weber); his great-niece Giulia Foster; his aunt Mary Smith; his cousins, Karyn (David Miller) and Randy Smith (Karen); and his sister-in-law Patricia Burgess (Foster). He is also survived by cousins and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) or the Canadian Cancer Society.

“Dear Sue and family, I was saddened to hear of J.B.’s passing. I will always hold fond memories of him as he graciously hosted my aunt (Lorraine), mother (Diane), and I in Ireland. He was a beam of positive energy, and the best tour guide we could’ve asked for. He was so meticulous in his baking, which I really admired about him.
