It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Douglas McVittie (Toronto, Ontario), who passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint John Douglas leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Lowndes; and his sister Marilyn Lowndes. He is survived by: his children, Pamela Holton (Alen) and John (Kimberley); his grandchildren, David Holton (Madison), Christopher Holton (Caroline Poisson), Jennifer Holton, Alexandra McVittie (Drew Black) and Paige McVittie; and his brother Tim McVittie.
