We announce the death of John Galinaitis of Toronto, Ontario, who passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 79. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. John will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew John will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. John’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Martynas Galinaitis and Marta Galinaitis. He is survived by: his sister Edith Galinaitis; his brother-in-law Ron Koperdraad; his son Chris; his granddaughter Lara Totayo; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn and Margot.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the YMCA of Greater Toronto (https://www.ymcagta.org), an organization he supported for many years as a volunteer.
