Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John McDonald (Toronto, Ontario), who passed away at the age of 81, on June 23, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, John McDonald and Agnes "Nancy" McCormack; his brother Jim (Andrea); and his wife Catherine "Rena" McLean. He is survived by: his children, Stephen (Maria) and Catherine (Peter); his grandchildren, Caitlin, Meaghan and James; and his sisters, Nancy, Margaret Watson (Jim) and Susan Wilson (John).

In turn, the family wishes to thank Thomas and Sigrid for keeping an eye on John all these years, particularly during the pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society (Pancreatic).

“Johnny Mac was one of a kind, small but mighty and always shared a good story or joke. He was very helpful to me and everyone in the entire building where he lived. As my neighbour and my friend, I will miss seeing you everyday, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did for me. “John was a 'one-of-a-kind'. He loved a good joke and story along with his Scottish heritage and his music. He was the 'go to' guy for help in the building we call home. You could always hear football on tv from the hallway and music on New Years eve. A very well liked man who is leaving lots of good memories here at the building he lived in.
