He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Isabelle Baird Stewart of Toronto and John Victor Stewart of Chicoutimi, Quebec.; his children, Carolyn (Robert), Ian, Alexandra (Robert) and Andrew (Robert); his granddaughter Isabel Francis; and also Maine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Class of 1955 Forestry Alumni Scholarship at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton.
