He is survived by: his wife Myriam; his children, Juan Diego Alvarez, Keith Alvarez and Sarah Mercedes Alvarez; his grandchildren, Elyana Mercedes Alvarez Cardiello, Mya Elizabeth Alvarez Ciardiello and Valentina Natasha Alvarez Ciardiello; and his siblings, Gloria Cecilia, Francia Elena, Aída María, José Fernando, Víctor Hugo and Ana Victoria Álvarez Patiño.
