He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence E. Johnson and Matilda R. Johnson (Grant); his son Victor Nickerson; and his siblings, Ruby Provo, Loretta Sparks, Bernitta Hodges, Julia Johnson, Howard, James, Nick, Stan and Johnny.
He is survived by: his close friend Arvilla Anderson; his children, Earl, Tony Grant (Cathy), Daryl Johnson, Paula, Marilyn Johnson and Basil Gajarder; his grandchildren, Kiley Fleming, Sancha Lajoie, Durell Johnson, Elysia Grant, Zachary Carter, Brianna and Halo Johnson; and his siblings, Burley MacLean (Wilferd), Cora Johnson, Benjamin, Murlin, Lyle (Annie) and Michael (Mary). He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
