Kosta Tutunovsky Obituary
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Kosta Tutunovsky. Kosta passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Kosta was born on August 1st, 1935 in a small fishing village in Nivici Greece. He was displaced by the war to Hungary and then later immigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada. Shortly after arriving in Canada, Kosta married Tina Sfetkopoulos and raised three loving children, Nick (Maddy), Diana (Steven) and Christina (Steven). Together, they were blessed with 7 grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Emily, Daniel, Samantha, Sarah and Olivia Tina preceded him in death on November 11th, 2007. Kosta was then blessed with two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Athena.
Kosta was an academic, when he came to Canada he went to the University of British Columbia, for forest engineering. Unfortunately he had to leave school to support his family coming from Greece. After sponsoring his family to Canada, Kosta took a number of courses and completed his Real Estate Licence, then became a Real Estate Broker. Kosta worked hard to establish his own business as a Real Estate Broker. He then took additional courses to become a Real Estate appraiser. He pursued this vocation until his retirement at the age of 58, where he enjoyed spending time with his family. Kosta was fluent in four languages, Macedonian, Hungarian, Greek and English. He loved reading, going for walks outside and keeping up with current world politics.
Kosta will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and wisdom. He will be greatly missed by the ones who knew him. Forever in our hearts.
