He was predeceased by: his parents, Alan Smith and Wilma (Wismer). He is survived by: his spouse Mark Pogachefsky; his daughter Gemma James Smith (Gil Garratt); his grandchildren, Ghid Garratt, Gulliver Garratt, Goldie-Jack Garratt and Gloria Garratt; his siblings, Rob Smith (Lynna) and Pat Nicholsen (Greg); and his nieces and nephews, Ariel, Matthew, Daniel, Shannon, Brittany and Ainsley.
Larry was also a dedicated volunteer for several years at Romero House in Toronto, a charity for refugee resettlement, where he also served on the Board of Directors.
