She was predeceased by: her husband Cavan Atkinson; her parents, James Albert and Isabele Hewitt; her stepmother Isobel Hewitt; her brother James Arthur Hewitt (Emily); her nephew Jim Hewitt; and her son-in-law Jeff Anderson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cathy (Norbert), Liz and Karen (Michael); her grandchildren, Ben (Katy), Cody (Cheri), Carly (Kyle), Amanda (Matt), Matt (Claudia), Garrett, Lauren (Dylan) and Jennifer; her sibling's children, Linda Upshaw, Atkinson, Jeff (Barb), John, Ross (Cecelia) and Stuart (Colette); Doug (Janet). She is also survived by her 11 great grandchildren.

Following the pandemic and into Peggy's final years, Joylyn provided exceptionally loving care to mom.
