With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Anne (Peggy) Emery (Toronto, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 20, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertha MacMillan and Dr. James MacMillan; and her brother Angus. She is survived by: her husband Guy; her children, Chris (Isabel Magnoli), Peter (Shelley Cox) and Jennifer (John Dolan); her sister-in-law Shirley Emery; her nieces, Harriet MacMillan (Tom Lindsey) and Jean Hammell (Mike); her nephew Jamie MacMillan (Maria Pimentel); and her grandchildren, Nick Dolan (Sara Hinding), Taylor Emery (Bren Marchessault), Sean Dolan, Maggie Emery, Brenda, Heather and Ian. She is also survived by her daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons.

Margaret Tuer lit a candle

“We were all saddened with the news that Peggy had died. She truly was an exceptional person in every way. She had such a giving and loving nature and was loved by all who who knew her. Her sense of humour was a delight and brought many smiles and laughter to us all. Her Friday night dinners were enjoyed by many. Such a wonderful way to finish the weeks activities at Branksome Hall. All the staff and students adored her. My sincere sympathies are extended to her family at this sad time.”
