In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Maria leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Maria may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her husband Antonio Barcelos. She is survived by: her brothers, Antonio Leonardo, Adao Manuel Leonardo and Acores; and her sister-in-law Maria Teresa. She is also survived by her family, relatives, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Vescio Funeral Homes (2080 Dufferin St, York, ON M6E 3R7). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Helen's Parish (1680 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M6K1V3).
If so desired, donations in memory of Maria Amelia may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family has chosen to send donations to CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY - SOCIETE CANADIENNE DU CANCER.
