She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Maitland Roy; and her parents, Harry Laurence Stearns and Blanche Baby Wilkinson. She is survived by: her children, Robert Laurence Maitland Roy (Julia Nairne), Hilary Douglas Roy (Cullen Welbourn), Ian Maitland Roy (Dara Otwell) and Virginia Margaret Roy (Robert Wiseman); her grandchildren, Breton Ryan (Matt), Carly Wiseman, Wheaton Welbourn, Ian Wiseman, Columbia Roy, Redmond Roy, Nathan, Kelly and Merritt Ryan of Charlotte, NC.; and her caregivers, Amy Tupaz, Imelda Niegas, Roseann Doodnauth, Aayush Rijal and Gertrude Dieobi.

She volunteered at Sunnybrook Hospital for 16 years, pushing wheelchairs in the Veteran's wing until the Covid closure in 2020.
