He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernadette Doucette (Williamson) and Gies. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Justin (Emily), Kurt (Michelle), Shawn (Lindsey) and Brittany (Scottie); his nieces and nephews, Lauren, Cassandra, Sam, Dusty and Beau; his aunt Mary Kay (Norm Patt); and his cousins, Ed, Wendy, Lynda, Margaret, Rose and John.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association in Matt's name would be greatly appreciated.
