She was loved and cherished by many people including: her brother Trevor; her nephew Clive (Brenda); her niece Tania; and her sister-in-law Adrienne.
She endured, with courage, in her Kingsway apartment, the various difficulties created by the Covid epidemic.
In recognition of her valuable contributions to the community and country, Merle was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in a presentation at Swansea Town Hall.
